The Arundel 27
Two traditional-style powerboats built annually from 2004-2008

The Arundel 27 is a handsome day-tripper style of boat that is remarkably  easy to maintain. The traditional appearance is actually the result of modern construction techniques using composite materials that protect it from the elements. The boat cruises up to30 knots, and features maximum efficiency, low maintenance and ahull design that allows owners to

safely access shallow waters. The Arundel 27 has a well-equipped galley and comfortable berth for overnight visits along the coast. The power is provided by a fuel-efficient, quiet, freshwater-cooled diesel with the lowest emissions in the industry.

Designed to the highest standards by Steve Dalzell, the Arundel 27 has a cold-molded hull constructed with famously durable WEST SYSTEM® epoxies. Laminated layers of marine plywood and Western Red Cedar form the hull, and the transom is built with mahogany. This construction makes the hull stiffer than fiberglass boats and just as easily maintained thanks to the exterior fiberglass skin.

The cockpit is protected from the elements by a large windscreen, cockpit coamings, and bimini top with removable side screens. The cabin is well-lighted via a large overheadstainless steel framed overhead hatch, four screened and opening portlightsin the cabin sides, and well placedHalogen lighting.

Much of the boat's interior furniture, constructed from solid timber and marine plywood, is designed to contribute to the vessel's overall structural strength and integrity. Access to the forward cabin from the cockpit is via a removable hatch and bi-fold paneled doors hung on cast stainless steel hinges.

Engine

Power is provided by a Volvo D4 diesel and a duoprop outdrive. Volvo is the world's top innovator indrive technology, and this durable, impact-resistent engine is remarkably fuel-efficient and quiet. A 141⁄2-inch draft ensures access to beaches and shallow coves and inlets for gunk-holing and picnics.

Finish

Exterior finish is painted with toe rails, eyebrow trim molding and transom finished in high gloss
varnish. In short, the boat is a real eye-catcher, but is easily maintained thanks to the use of modern and durable epoxies and finishes.
